Freedom for animals

A project carried out by Laisves TV and the PI “Gyvunu geroves iniciatyvos” (GGI), which aimed to systematically stop the illegal reproduction of animals and release animals, which are in unjustifiable slavery.

The project was prompted by fantastic things that happened in Lithuania in the autumn 2020 – united indifferent people knocked out entire illegal clans of animal multipliers and incapacitated services. Now we have a great chance for real changes, but when emotions subside, we must act systematically and avoid chaos: by acting in an unorganized manner, information about the planned checks reaches the multipliers and the people who support them, and then the clues begin to be destroyed, or even more terrifyingly, the animals are killed.

During the meeting of Laisves TV, the GGI, the Police Commissioner General of the Republic of Lithuania and the Director of the State Food and Veterinary Service (SFVS), a joint action plan was drawn up, which will help to effectively destroy the network of illegal multipliers.

Freedom for animals has joined the project Animal neglect cases and is part of our daily work.

The received data will be promptly evaluated and verified by a team consisting of:

– police officers,

– representatives of the SFVS who have the right to take animals,

– advocates of animal rights,

– journalists and people who can publicize the situation – we want the whole process to be clear and transparent.

FREEDOM FOR ANIMALS has coordinated actions with animal shelters so that we clearly know where and what animals are being transferred, what their further fate is and what the needs of the shelters are.

If you have data on the places of reproduction or torture of animals that have already been visited, please report them by e-mail: info@ggi.lt (address, work done, number of animals taken, place of their delivery, your contacts). The presentation of information is completely confidential.
